Gawler Ranges Road Upgrade
The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) advises that upgrade works on targeted sections of the Gawler Ranges Road ave commenced today.
The works will include the formation and re-sheeting of 13.5 kilometres in total of the unsealed Gawler Ranges Road, east of Wirrulla. This upgrade will improve ride quality and safety for road users and will assist this section of road to drain during wet weather events.
DPTI will make every effort to minimise the impact on road users.
Works will be undertaken between 7am and 5pm on weekdays and weekends, over 18 day blocks with 10 day breaks, until completed.
The road will remain open with minor lane restrictions in place including 25 km/h speed restrictions when workers are on site.
Other speed restrictions may apply subject to on site conditions.
The works are expected to be completed by the end of November 2017, weather permitting.
The $1.3 million upgrade is funded by the Australian Government’s Roads to Recovery Programme.
