Minnipa Football Club Celebrates 100 Years

Minnipa Football Club is celebrating 100 years of football at Minnipa this weekend, when the Western Districts take on rivals Wirrulla in commemorative guernseys.

Clayton spoke to Glenn Phillips from Minnipa Football Club for more.

According to event organisers on Facebook,"the centenary celebrations are all coming together nicely and the committee is looking forward a great weekend.

"Kicking off this Friday night, if you wish to come its not too late, everyone is welcome.

"Just come to the Minnipa Hotel at 6pm and we will sort it out," event organisers said.

Saturday will see a Guernsey auction commence after teas, with all money raised going towards the Western Districts football club.

"So make sure you pack your dancing shoes with live entertainment by BONKERS, and pack your swags and stay the night," the Facebook post reads.

A recovery breakfast will be available at the Minnipa Shop on Sunday from 8am, and the shop is opening up all weekend just for the event.
