Kooka's Remain Positive Despite Woolies Decision

Kooka's Country Cookies, based in Flow region Donald are remaining positive, despite a decision by Woolworths to pull the biscuit from shelves outside of Victoria and Tasmania.

Kooka's Spokesperson Kelvin Clark told Flow FM about the current situation.

Mr Clark said the changes which take place from the end of September will impact upon the regional Victorian company, which employs 28 people in a town of 1,700.

"We were looking at investing more money into machinery, and everything else, but that sort of puts it on hold a little bit," he said.

Regional Development Minister Jaala Pulford wrote to Woolworths earlier this week asking them to reconsider, however Mr Clark told Flow FM it made no difference.

When asked how people can show their support for Kooka's Mr Clark said: "If [people] could purchase a packet [of Kooka's] every now and again, that would help us tremendously."

Kooka's Country Cookies are available for purchase at other independent grocers outside of Victoria and Tasmania.
