The Commonwealth Bank Sinks Further into the Mire


The Treasurer summoned the Chair of the Commonwealth Bank, Catherine Livingstone, to Canberra on Tuesday last week and told her that the Coalition was keeping all its options open when it came to dealing with the transgressions of the bank.


Things got worse for Ms Livingstone.

Last Friday the Chairman of the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC), Greg Medcraft, announced that he would be investigating whether the board of the Commonwealth Bank had complied with the continuous disclosure rules.
