CanTeen’s South East Visit Supporting Teens Dealing with Cancer

CanTeen will visit SA's South East today through to Friday, to connect with young people affected by cancer.

The organisation was established by a group of young cancer patients in 1985 to support young people aged 12-25 who are dealing with a close family member’s cancer, or their own.

Programs Officer Rebecca Walker will work her way through Keith, Naracoorte and Mount Gambier this week, offering an opportunity for local families, schools and health providers to connect with CanTeen and discover the support available regionally.

Anita spoke to Rebecca on yesterday's Country Viewpoint to find out more.

Young people living in the South East dealing with cancer in their lives are invited to attend a free laser tag recreation event at Burrungule Park Laser Tag today from 4pm-6pm. Families, schools, community groups and health professionals in the South East that would like more information or the opportunity to meet Rebecca during her visit are encouraged to contact CanTeen by calling 8122 6492, emailing sa.nt@canteen.org.au or visiting canteen.org.au/getsupport.
