Bridging the Gap in the Wimmera Mallee
Seven new bridge projects will be undertaken across Victoria's Wimmera Mallee region, with funding from round three of the Federal Government's Bridges Renewal program.
Federal Member for Mallee Andrew Broad said the electorate of Mallee will see more than $1.2 million in funding from the program, with major upgrades set to take place.
“The Gannawarra Shire Council, the Horsham Rural City Council, the Northern Grampians Shire Council and the West Wimmera Shire Council were all successful in this round and I thank them for their great applications.
“These projects aren’t only building bridges, they’re building the way we transport our produce grown here in the Mallee right across Australia, and they are vital to our horticultural industry, our livestock industry, wine and table grapes and so much more.
“These upgrades and replacements will also increase safety on our roads and dramatically improve driving conditions for residents and local truck drivers," he said.
