Planned Power Outage for Eyre Peninsula
A planned power outage will occur on the Eyre Peninsula on 29 October 2017, interrupting electricity supply across the region, according to ElectraNet.
The outage will occur from 3am to 11am on Sunday, 29 October 2017 and affect customers in the highlighted area of the map above.
During this time, ElectraNet will undertake essential works on the 132,000 volt transmission line between the Cultana and Yadnarie substations, with a series of maintenance works scheduled to occur during this time also, to avoid the need for multiple outages.
For the work to be completed safely, the transmission line must be turned off.
Affected businesses and households will receive written notification from SA Power Networks.
Flow FM will also not be transmitting to the outback region during this time, due to the power outages.
Broadcasting should return to normal once the power is switched back on.
ElectraNet apologised for any inconvenience caused by the need to interrupt supply, adding the work may not proceed if weather conditions are unsuitable or if there are unforeseen circumstances.
