Women Hold Up Half the Sky Award

Do you know a woman who is wonderful in her contributions to the community? Nominations for the 'Women Hold Up Half the Sky Award' are now open, with Member for Stuart, Dan van Holst Pellekaan encouraging people to apply.

The award acknowledges the outstanding contribution of women in the community and Mr van Holst Pellekaan says there are many extremely dedicated and capable women in the electorate of Stuart who would be very worthy nominees.

“At this year’s awards, Lisa Lumsden from Port Augusta was recognised with a commendation for her invaluable contribution to the local community.

“It would be wonderful to have another woman from our electorate receive an award and I would strongly encourage people to consider nominating someone you know makes an important contribution to their community.”

The winner will be announced at Government House on Monday, 22 January 2018.

For more information and to nominate visit sa.australiaday.org.au or phone the Australia Day Council of SA on 8463 5436.

Nominations close on Friday, 24 November 2017.
