Birchip Community Leisure Centre Kitchen Upgrade
Federal Member for Mallee, Andrew Broad has recently announced that under Round 3 of The Federal Governments Stronger Communities Program the Birchip Community Leisure Centre will be set to replace and upgrade their current cooking facilities.

The local centre will receive a grant amount of just under $15,000 with the total project cost estimated to be around $38,000.
“From sporting competitions and club functions to being the venue for the local hospital Flower Show, The Birchip Leisure Centre is a hub for the community and this project will allow the volunteers who work in the kitchen a more user friendly and efficient space.” Broad Said.
The current cooking facilities will be replaced with three electric cooking ovens, gas hot plates, and a deep fryer.
The Leisure Centre is home to 7 different sporting clubs as well as a large number of community groups and events, they also have 250 local members who spend time there.
“I am very pleased to be able to deliver funding for this project under the Stronger Communities Program because community spaces like this one are vital to our regional towns and the communities livelihood.”
The Stronger Communities Programme (SCP) provides grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 to community organisations and local governments for capital projects.
