Murder of Martin Meffert still ongoing
Properties in the Mid North have been excavated this week as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of Martin Meffert.

Forensic experts and officers from the Major Crime Investigation branch visited two properties in Meffert’s home town of Terowie as well as the Mulga Valley.
Detective Superintendent Des Bray, the officer in charge of Major Crime, confirmed that police suspected Mr Meffert’s remains were buried at the properties at some point.
Chelsea from the Northern Argus spoke more about the investigation to Sarah during the Regional Roundup.
Mr Meffert was last seen in February 2005 on a bus heading to Terowie and in October 2013 his partial skeletal remains were located in a bag in a fireplace at a house in Packer Street.
A reward of up to $200,000 is available for anyone providing information leading to the apprehension and conviction of a person for Mr Meffert’s suspected murder.
