National Agriculture Day a Time to Thank Our Aussie Farmers
Tomorrow is National Agriculture Day, with Federal Member for Barker Tony Pasin, highlighting the importance of thanking our farmers.

"Dear Editor,
National Ag Day, on Tuesday 21 November, is a chance to thank our farmers.
Our farmers help feed us, cloth us and create jobs across the supply chain.
In fact, agriculture employs 1.6 million people across the supply chain around the nation.
Within Barker, Agriculture is our largest industry. There are over 4,500 Agri-businesses directly employing over 11,250 people in the electorate without accounting for indirect employment along the extended supply chain such as truck drivers, retail workers, stock agents and the like.
It’s no wonder that Australian farm income surpassed $60 billion for the first time last year. Agriculture has emerged as the fastest growing sector and the largest contributor to national GDP growth in 2016-17.
It is also worth noting that the average Aussie farmer feeds 400 Australians and 600 people around the world each year.
Thank you to all our Aussie farmers. You really are the backbone of this great nation."
