National Ag Day the Flow FM Way

Today is National Agriculture Day - celebrating our thriving industry right across Australia by encouraging people to support local and reminding them where our food and fibre comes from.

National Agriculture Day is also a time to appreciate the hard work of everyone involved in the agricultural sector - from farmers to ag scientists, and everyone in between.

Flow FM caught up with a few different people involved in the industry to find out how they're celebrating National Agriculture Day, and why it is so important.

Agrifutures is an organisation focused on the future of the Australian agricultural industry, with General Manager of Research and Innovation, Michael Beer joining Anita on the Country Viewpoint.

David Jochinke is President of the Victorian Farmers Federation and spoke to Sarah on Flow FM about how he is celebrating the day.

Chairman of Grain Producers SA Wade Dabinett is passionate about the Australian agricultural industry, and South Australian grains industry in particular. He joined Anita on Flow FM for more.

George the Farmer is a much loved Australian farming character, starring in a number of educational apps, books and songs, as well as being an ambassador for National Agriculture Day.

Anita caught up with Co-Creator Ben Hood on the Country Viewpoint to talk about the importance of getting the next generation interested and excited about the agricultural industry.

Wheat is the latest subject of George the Farmer's newest video, educating children right around Australia.

To all the farmers out there we say thank you! Happy National Agriculture Day from Flow FM!
