Coonalpyn Kids Ready to Play
Children from the Coonalpyn community and surrounding towns will have access to a renewed playground when the Coorong District Council completes its upgrades.

Courtney had the story on this morning's Brekkie Flow.
Upgrades include replacing ageing equipment in the coming months, including eight pieces which are not to standard and require removal and renewal.
Council has agreed to divert $48,000 from its planning budget to remove the equipment and begin planning and installing a replacement playground.
Coorong District Council Mayor Neville Jaensch said that overall, the results of the audit were encouraging for Council, but Coonalpyn would be given urgent attention.
“We recognise the Coonalpyn playground is a valued and well-used playground in our community.
"This community deserves a playground and Council is committed to meeting the needs of all of our small communities,” Mayor Jaensch said.
“Playground equipment is something which not only deteriorates with age, but trends in designs change rapidly as well, and what may have been considered safe 20 years ago doesn’t necessarily hold up to today’s standards.
“Our staff inspect our playgrounds numerous times a year to ensure they are safe for our local children to be playing on, but our regular audits apply an additional level of scrutiny and we’re pleased to see only three other pieces of equipment across our vast networks of communities need to be replaced.”
