Regional Victoria to Host 2030 Commonwealth Games?
Regional Victoria is one step closer to hosting the 2030 Commonwealth Games, following a pre-feasability study coordindated by Greater Shepparton City Council on behalf of regional councils across the state.

Colac Otway Shire Council will contribute $3000 towards the study aimed at attracting the 2030 Commonwealth Games to regional Victoria.
Anita had the story on the Country Viewpoint.
Mayor Joe McCracken said regional Victoria was the ideal location for the games.
“We have world-class mountain biking trails as well as some of the most picturesque roads in Australia that could host walking, running and cycling events.
“Hosting the Commonwealth Games across regional Victoria would present significant economic and social opportunities, and Council believes our contribution to the pre-feasibility study is an important first step.”
The pre-feasibility study will cost $80,000, with the State Government contributing $30,000 and the remainder to come from rural and regional Victorian councils.
“There’s no doubt that regional Victoria has an enormous amount to offer, not just in terms of its sporting facilities but as a great place to visit and explore,” Cr McCracken said.
