Buzzare Theft at Coonalpyn

Police are seeking the assistance of the Coorong community, after a number of bee hives were

recently stolen from a property just near Coonalpyn.

Between Wednesday 29 November and Tuesday 5 December, thieves have entered a property just off the Dukes Highway about 5kms north of Coonalpyn by cutting a padlock off the gate and then stolen 18 bee hives.

All the white bee hives can be identified with black stencil markings 'BRC' on the side.

All the hives would have also been nearly full of honey.

Police are seeking anyone with information on the theft including persons or vehicles seen in the area loading the hives to please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Three other thefts of bee hives occurred earlier in the year in the Fleurieu Peninsula area, it is unsure at this stage if the thefts are linked.
