Weekend Drink Drivers Nabbed on EP


A Ceduna woman and a Streaky Bay man will face court after they were reported for drink driving offences over the weekend.


Just after 6pm on Friday 15 December, Ceduna Police were conducting random breath tests on Thevenard Road at Thevenard, when they stopped a 35-year-old woman driving for a breath test.

The woman allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.240 or nearly five times over the limit of 0.05.

The woman was reported for drink driving, her licence was disqualified for a minimum of 12 months and her car was impounded for 28 days.

Then at about 5pm on Saturday 16 December, Streaky Bay Police stopped a man driving on Wells Street Streaky Bay for a random breath test.

The 59-year-old man allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading 0.117 or more than double the legal limit.

The man was reported drink driving, his licence was disqualified for six months and his car was impounded for 28 days.

Both drivers will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
