Man Arrested After Woman Injured on Yorke Peninusla


An Elizabeth Grove man has been arrested after a woman known to him was hit by a car which broke her leg on Yorke Peninsula on Friday night.


Just before 9.30pm on Friday 5 January, police patrols attended a disturbance at South Kilkerran near Port Pearce.

Police will allege an Elizabeth Grove man allegedly made threats to kill another man known.

Following an argument, the arrested man has then allegedly driven a car directly at another man, but the car hit a woman in the leg resulting in a serious injury.

The injured woman was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with a broken leg. Her condition was not considered life threatening.

A short time later that night police patrols located the man in the vehicle and he was arrested.

The 27-year-old man from Elizabeth Grove was charged with threaten to kill, acts to endanger life and drink driving after he returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.103.

All persons are well known to each other.

The arrested man was refused police bail and was expected to appear in the Kadina Magistrates Court today 8 January.
