Drink Drivers Detected in South East
A driver in the Limestone Coast was caught with a blood alcohol reading nearly five times the legal limit overnight.
Just after midnight on Sunday 14 January, police pulled over a vehicle on Mount McIntyre Road, Kalangadoo.
The driver, a 35-year-old Millicent woman, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.236.
She was reported for drink driving and breaching the conditions of her provisional licence.
Her car was impounded for 28 days, her licence suspended on the spot for 12 months and she will be summonsed to appear in court.
A man has also been reported for drink driving after being stopped at Naracoorte this morning.
Naracoorte police received a number of calls from the public about a Holden station wagon driving erratically on the Wimmera Highway just before 9.30am on Monday 15 January.
Police located the vehicle in Smith Street and breath tested the driver who allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.136.
A 22-year-old man from Maitland was reported for drink driving, issued with a six month instant loss of licence, and will have his car clamped for 28 days.
He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
