Fatal Crash at Truro

A man has died following a fatal crash near Truro overnight.

Just after 10pm on Sunday 14 January, police and emergency services were called to the Sturt Highway, approximately 5km west of Truro, after reports of a collision between a car and a truck.

The driver of the car, a 49-year-old Stockwell man, died at the scene.

The driver of the truck received minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The Sturt Highway was closed in both directions for several hours while Major Crash Investigators attended the scene but has since been reopened.

The man's death takes the states road toll to 4, compared to 3 at the same time last year.
