Men Arrested After Domestic Incident in Murray Mallee

A 50-year-old man from the Murray Mallee area last night (30 January) was arrested for aggravated assault.

As well as facing serious charges, the man was issued a Police Interim Intervention Order (PIIO), which provides further protection for the victim.

These Orders provide police with greater powers to take immediate action to protect individuals and their families not only from physical violence - but also threatening and controlling behaviour.

The man was charged with aggravated assault causing harm and two counts of aggravated assault he was refused bail and is expected to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court today.

Police encourage anyone experiencing domestic violence to contact them immediately for assistance.

A 22-year-old Murray Mallee man was also arrested for hinder police during the incident.
