Recycling Collection to Continue in Buloke Shire

Buloke Shire Council has confirmed to residents that recycling collection will continue in the region, releasing the following statement today:

"Buloke Shire Council has been affected by the decision of recycling firms to no longer accept recyclable material.

In the last few days, Council have worked closely with our kerbside contractor, Four Seasons Waste, to explore other alternatives.

Four Seasons Waste has been able to secure a short term agreement with Polytrade to accept our recyclable material and therefore recycling services, including kerbside collection and disposal at transfer stations, will continue as normal.

We ask our residents to continue recycling as normal as collection services remain unchanged at this time.

We are working with the Victorian Government and industry as a matter for urgency to respond to the issues posed by the China restrictions on recycling, to ensure there is minimal impact our residents."
