Suspicious Death at Murray Bridge


Police are appealing to the public for help to locate Travis Kirchner who is wanted in connection with a suspicious death overnight at Murray Bridge.


Just after 8pm on Sunday 4 February, police were called to a disturbance at a home on Albert Terrace at Murray Bridge. Shortly after arrival, a police patrol discovered the body of a 54-year-old Murray Bridge woman and are treating her death as a homicide. Detectives from Murray Bridge CIB and Major Crime are investigating. Police are currently looking for Travis Kirchner who is 43 years, Caucasian , 176cm tall, 81kg, slim build with short/balding brown hair with a possible rat tail and green eyes.

Travis is believed to be wearing a faded red t-shirt and jeans.

He also has numerous tattoos including a tiger on his chest and a panther on his upper right arm.

Detective Superintendent Des Bray, Officer in Charge, Major Crime, said, "Police are currently looking for Travis in connection with this murder.

"We urge him to come forward, make contact with police and surrender peacefully.

"We also appeal to any family, friends or acquaintances of Travis to encourage him to surrender to police. "Anyone who sees Travis or knows of his whereabouts is advised to not approach him and contact police immediately on 131 444”.

While the investigation is in its early stages, police believe the people involved are known to each other.
