Streaky Bay Ready to Race
From the coast line to the finish line, the 2018 XXXX Gold & Streaky Bay Community Hotel Cup has something for everyone on Saturday March 17 at the Streaky Bay Race Course.
As a main event on the Streaky Bay Calendar, Sponsorship & Marketing Coordinator Sam Kirby says the Cup is growing in popularity every year.
“We are now attracting many racegoers from all over the country not just the EP," she said.
"Word of mouth is spreading on what a fantastic day we offer for Racegoers.
“In 2017 we had record crowds and the feedback has been that everyone loved the relaxed country atmosphere that our Cup day provides.
"We also had a record number of sponsors for 2017, without their support the race day wouldn’t be possible," Sam added.
The 2018 Cup Carnival will kick off on the Friday night at the Streaky Bay Hotel with the Cup Calcutta and special guest speaker soon to be announced.
Dinner bookings are essential for the night, and can be booked with the hotel by calling (08) 8626 1008.
Come Saturday, 6 races will be on show, with on-course bookmakers, a mobile TAB outlet by UBET, and the Punters Club being run by Philip McEvoy.
Fashion at the Races is also set to be a draw-card for racegoers dressing in their finest, with a high standard of competition sure to be set in 2018.
A shuttle bus will also be operating between the track and the Streaky Bay Hotel throughout the day.
For those looking for a more formal setting to indulge on race day, there is the Lincoln Estate Trackside Marquee – positioned at the winning post, with catering and drinks provided.

As a family friendly event, the Streaky Bay Cup encompasses the spirit of Country Racing by bringing together the community in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Activities for children will be on offer, including the Kids Marquee, with face painting a jumping castle and Slide and more.
To finish off festivities the Streaky Bay Hotel will again be offering meals and entertainment for racegoers who don’t want the day to end.
