Water Rescue Near Streaky Bay
Two men had a lucky escape after their boat capsized south of Streaky Bay yesterday.

The alarm was raised about 1.20pm on Monday 26 February, after a 4.3meter dinghy off Speeds Point capsized.
Fortunately, the wife of one of the men on board was in the area, spotted the upturned boat and called police.
Local emergency services and Water Police were notified and with the assistance of a local boat, the males were pulled from the water to safety.
The men were in the water for approximately two hours before being rescued.
Both men were treated at the Streaky Bay Hospital for shock and hypothermia before being released.
Police would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone about the new life jacket legislation which came into effect in December 2017 which all boaters need to know to make sure that they and their crew comply.
