Fatal Crash on Augusta Highway
A man has died following a crash just north of Port Wakefield this morning.
About 6am, Wednesday 14 March, police and SAAS were called to the Augusta Highway 3km north of the Copper Coast Highway Junction after a collision involving a truck and two cars.
Sadly a 42-year-old man from Salisbury, the driver and sole occupant of a Mitsubishi sedan, died at the scene.
The truck driver a 43 year-old man from Tanunda was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious injuries.
All four occupants of the Tarago were taken to hospital by road and their injuries are not considered life threatening.
Northbound traffic is being diverted via Balaklava or the Copper Coast Highway and southbound traffic is being diverted through Nantawarra.
Major Crash Investigators are at the scene investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The states road toll is 15 compared to 14 at the same time last year.
