Energy Politics on the National Energy Guarantee
Through some quirk of the Coalition of Australian Governments’ Energy Council process, South Australia has to produce the model law to implement the NationalEnergy Guarantee (NEG).

The deal is that, once the South Australian Parliament has passed the law, the other states and territories and the Commonwealth will enact the same legislation.
The law is meant to reflect the decision of the COAG Energy Council which is required to be unanimous.
The Council will meet in April to reach this decision.
At the moment only the Australian Capital Territory is standing out against the consensus decision to support the NEG.
