Police Thank YP Teens for their Efforts

Three local Yorke Peninsula school students have been presented with Certificates of Appreciation by SA Police last week, acknowledging their efforts in connection with an attempted rescue off Black Point, on the east coast of Yorke Peninsula, in January.

Liam Dodd aged 15, Seth Mitchell also 15 and Jarrod Tucker, 16, were given the certificates in front of their school mates at Central Yorke School, Maitland, last week.

In January the trio was kayaking off Black Point when they found a woman face down in the water.

They pulled her to shore, and assisted by some nearby shack owners, attempted to revive her. Unfortunately she died at the scene.

Maitland Brevet Sergeant Nathan French, who presented the Certificates commended the youths for assisting in this difficult situation.
