The Minister for Home Affairs, Immigration and Border Protection Peter Dutton has been announced to represent the Australian Government at this year’s Anzac Day commemorations in Turkey from 24-25 April.

The Minister said “I look forward to paying my deep respects and upholding the memory of the 48,000 Allied soldiers, including the 8,700 Australians and 2,700 New Zealanders, and close to 87,000 troops of the Ottoman Empire that lost their lives at Gallipoli”.

“The sacrifice of our diggers at Gallipoli helped make Australia what it is today and more than 100 years on we rightly continue to honour them”.
