Making Cents of The Container Deposit Scheme

The push for a Victorian Container Deposit Scheme has been gaining some traction lately, with the help of the Queensland, Western Australian and ACT governments all starting their own initiatives.

The Deposit Schemes already exist within South Australia, The Northern Territory and New South Wales with refunds of 10 cents in exchange for plastic and glass bottles purchased within the state of exchange.

To find out more about what's being done to get the Victorian scheme up and running and the need behind it, Sarah caught up with VIC campaigner Annette from Boomerang Alliance.

The EPA manager of the South Australian Container Deposit Scheme, Geoff, joined Sarah to talk about the efficiency and 40 years of the initiative in SA.
