Drink Driver Speeding in Far West of the State
A man has lost his licence and car after he was caught drink driving on the far west coast yesterday.
Just before 6pm, Saturday 28 April, Penong police were conducting speed detection duties on the Eyre Highway about 8kms west of Penong, when they detected a car travelling at 139km/h in 110km/h zone.
Police were able to stop the car and speak to the driver, a 26-year-old Marla man.
He was submitted to a breath test and allegedly returned a positive result of 0.125.
The man was reported for speeding and drink driving with a child under 16-years-old in the car.
He was issued a six month loss of licence and his car impounded for 28 days.
He will face court at a later date.
