ANZAC Legend Leads Coober Pedy Parade
Coober Pedy Police were honoured to drive Raymond Boland in the Coober Pedy ANZAC Day Parade on Wednesday.
Mr Boland, 95, is the oldest surviving indigenous veteran in South Australia.
Born in Ooldea on the eastern edge of the Nullarbor (SA), he joined the Australian Army at just 16.
He served in New Guinea during the Kokoda Track campaign.
Sergeant Steve Winter visited Mr Boland last week to thank him for the lovely gift basket he gave him for driving him in the front police sedan leading the ANZAC Parade.
Lest We Forget.
