Update: Fatal Crash at Wigley Flat
Roads have reopened following a fatal crash on the Sturt Highway at Wigley Flat this morning.
About 5.10am on Monday 30 April, a truck collided with a broken down truck on the highway, about 25 kilometres west of Barmera.
A driver and passenger in one of the trucks were trapped and had to be freed by emergency services.
Sadly the driver, a 36-year-old Northgate man died at the scene.
The passenger, a 58-year-old man from Northgate, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
The other driver was not in his truck at the time and was not injured.
The Sturt Highway was closed for several hours but has now been reopened.
The man's death takes the State's road toll to 27, compared to 25 at the same time last year.
