Seeking Suicide Support in our Regional Areas

Conversations around suicide are difficult discussions to have, particularly within our regional areas, where an incidence of suicide can have a ripple effect on the entire community.

However, talking about suicide is the best way to reduce the stigma surrounding it, according to Vanessa from Stamp Out Suicide (SOS) Yorkes, a local Yorke Peninsula group aiming to build a resilient community free of suicide.

Vanessa spoke to the Country Viewpoint today for more information on how to talk about suicide, what can be done to build a resilient community, and to discuss upcoming safeTALK workshops along Flow's Yorke Peninsula region.

If you need support, Lifeline is available 24/7 by calling 13 11 14 or Beyondblue on 1300 22 4636.
