YP Man to Face Court after Major Drug Seizure
A 44-year-old man is expected to appear in court today charged with trafficking a commercial quality of a controlled drug after police seized a large quantity of 1,4 Butanediol more commonly called ‘fantasy’.
The accused, from Yorke Peninsula, was arrested today by detectives from the Serious and Organised Crime Branch near Kadina.
Police will allege the arrest was the culmination of an ongoing operation, with 100 litres of fantasy seized as a result.
The man, who has been charged with two counts of trafficking a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug, remains in custody and is expected to appear in court either late today or tomorrow.
“This is a significant seizure of a very dangerous controlled drug commonly sold in liquid form as ‘fantasy’,” Acting Detective Chief Inspector Grant Garritty, form the Drug and Organised Crime Taskforce, said.
