Man Arrested After Stolen Car Crashes near Kingston SE
A New South Wales man appeared in court charged with a number of traffic offences following a crash near Kingston SE yesterday.
Police attended at a single vehicle roll-over on the Princes Highway north of Kingston about 7.30am on Thursday 24 May.
The driver was not injured in the crash.
Inquiries into the car revealed that it had been stolen from Preston in NSW on 21 May.
Police will allege that the man drove the stolen car via Melbourne to South Australia.
Checks on the man’s licence revealed that it had been disqualified by a NSW Court.
It is further alleged that about 5.10am yesterday (24 May) the man failed to pay for fuel at a Millicent service station.
A 32-year-old man from Blair Athol in NSW was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, driving without due care and making off without payment.
The man appeared in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court yesterday where he was remanded in custody to appear at a later date.
