Ashley's Future in Ag Supported by Industry

Ashley Smith is a first year university student from Flow region Auburn, whose start in the agricultural industry has been supported by the 2018 Agrifutures Horizon Scholarship.

The Australian National University student is one of 14 to receive the scholarship, with his funding being sponsored by the Grains Research and Development Corporation.

Ashley joined Flow FM on today's Country Viewpoint to discuss the scholarship and his future, potentially working as part of Australia's agricultural industry.

AgriFutures Australia Managing Director, John Harvey has congratulated students on their success and welcomed the up-and-coming leaders to the scholarship program.

We are thrilled to welcome the 2018 cohort, who were selected from a talented pool of over 200 applicants.

"These students are the future leaders of Australian agriculture and it’s very exciting to have them as part of our AgriFutures Horizon Scholarship program.

“[It] sets a path for students to experience career options they may otherwise not be exposed to, with the specific aim to set the students up for a long and successful career in agriculture,” he said.

Flow FM congratulates Ashley on his scholarship win and looks forward to seeing his career in the agricultural industry progress.
