Greens Gunyah Museum Upgrade Gets Green Light
Greens Gunyah Museum in Flow's 88.7fm Lockhart region has recently received a significant funding boost under the first round of the NSW State Government's Regional Cultural Fund (RCF).
Member for Wagga Wagga, Daryl Maguire, last week announced Greens Gunyah will receive $72,920 as part of their 'Double the Space, Double the History' project.
He joined Flow FM on the Country Viewpoint to share details of the funding and what it will specifically be used for.
The Lockhart announcement came at the same time as other RCF supported projects, including funding for the Museum of the Riverina Redevelopment ($3,188,383) and Jazzin’ up the Lit ($44,393).
Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW John Barilaro was with Mr Maguire when making the announcement, and said he was pleased to see such a vast array of exciting projects funded as part of round one of the new arts-specific fund.
“Having grown up and raised a family in a regional area, I know our regional towns and cities can have so much to offer in the arts and culture space,” he said.
“This fund is all about building on that rich arts and culture offering, and enhancing it – not only for those living in our regional towns, but for those who’ll flock to those towns as visitors, keen for a unique arts and cultural experience.
“I congratulate Batlow, Lockhart and Wagga Wagga, on the successful outcome of their grant applications, and for putting forward a project that will enhance the cultural infrastructure of the entire region."
Applications will soon be opened for the next round of funding through the RCF scheme, for more information, visit nsw.gov.au/regionalculturalfund or email email@example.com.
