Labor Moves for a Inspector-General of Animal Welfare
Shadow Minister for Rural and Regional Australia and Spokesperson for Country Caucus and Labor Member for Hunter Joel Fitzgibbon presented a Private Members’ Bill for an Act to provide for the appointment of an Inspector-General of Animal Welfare and alive Animal Exports, and for related purposes (Inspector-General of Animal Welfare and Live Animal Exports Bill 2018) in the House of Representatives at 10.20am today.

He also spoke on Sussan Ley’s Private Members Bill to end the Northern Summer live sheep export trade to the Middle East and to phase the remaining trade out after the next five years.
