NSW Nationals Conference in Cowra

The NSW Nationals held their annual general conference in Cowra in the Central West of NSW over the weekend.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Australia Michael McCormack gave a keynote address on Friday outlining his priorities for the Nationals and was thanked by his good friend and Assistant Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Mark Coulton the Member for Parkes.

The next generation was represented at the National Conference with new Young National Chair Jock Sowter making his inaugural address quoting Thomas Jefferson saying “Agriculture is our wisest pursuit because it will, in the end, contribute most”.

There was a Gala Dinner on Saturday night which was addressed by former Canberra Raiders star Laurie Daley talking about his extraordinary life and times saying “to me is a sense of belonging – sports teams are the hub & heartbeat of towns in the bush”.
