Funding for The Rock Town Hall and Museum
The Rock Town Hall and Museum has been selected to receive funding from the NSW Government’s arts, screen and culture agency, Create NSW, with a $1,600 grant for the local facility.
Funded through the Volunteer Museum Small Grants Program, administered by Museums & Galleries of NSW (M&G NSW) the program aims to facilitate vital improvements for volunteer-run museums across the state.
The museum will use the funding to print soft fabric banners decorated with historical photos of The Rock and District to go on permanent hanging exhibition display.
Under the program, in the first of two annual funding rounds, eleven community museums from regional NSW will share in a total of $17,864.70.
Minister for the Arts Don Harwin said, “I know that volunteer-led organisations hold a special place in communities across NSW and we are delighted to be able to continue supporting their efforts with regular improvements.
“By boosting the capability of our museums, these improvements play an important part in increasing participation from locals and visitors and ultimately boost the excellence of our cultural offering for the State as a whole,” Mr Harwin said.
