Find Your Happy Space in Regional Victoria

The state Government has launched a major intrastate tourism campaign to help bring more Melburnians out of city and into to regional Victoria – in return, supporting jobs and boosting local businesses.

Your Happy Space is a chance to showcase our stunning regional areas, diverse experiences and world-class food, art, music, nature and culture that the rest of Victoria has to offer.

Courtney had the story on the Brekkie Flow.

Featured heavily in the campaign is the Grampians region, which is part of Visit Victoria’s work to grow visitor spending to $36.5 billion by 2025 and create thousands of local jobs.

Tourism means serious business for our economy, with just over 50 million people visiting regional Victoria in the year to March 2018 – up by 20 per cent since 2014 – spending some $9.7 billion and creating thousands of jobs.

The Victorian Budget 2018/19 provides an extra $51.1 million to attract thousands more visitors from interstate and overseas.

An extra $2 million will be provided to help Regional Tourism Boards and Councils grow their local economies and local jobs by attracting new visitors and new events.
