Suspicious Fire at Former Border Chronicle Building
Police are investigating a suspicious fire at Bordertown tonight.
Just before 8.30pm on Thursday 16 August, patrols and fire fighters were called to De Courcey Street following reports of a vacant building on fire.
The fire (in the former Bordertown Chronicle building) threatened the neighbouring radio station before being extinguished.
No one was injured and damage is estimated at over $200,000.
Mount Gambier CIB and Fire Cause Investigators attended the scene this morning to investigate and report locating five burnt cannabis plants and equipment.
