Diesel Theft on the Rise in Mid North
Police are asking the community to report any suspicious activity near parked roadworks vehicles, after two reports of diesel being syphoned from unattended graders.
Anyone noticing people or vehicles parked near graders or other parked vehicles – particularly in isolated areas – is urged to call police on 131 444.
Timely reporting of suspicious activity assist police in locating offenders and preventing further crime from occurring.
The two reports this week occurred at Peterborough where more than 200 litres of diesel was taken from a grader left on Belalie Road over the weekend, and about 100 litres taken from a grader left on Main Street at Redhill over an eight day period.
