Erratic Driver Arrested at Ceduna
A driver was arrested after allegedly driving erratically and speeding at Ceduna last night.
Police received multiple calls from the public just after 7pm on Wednesday 5 September with reports of a blue Ford sedan driving erratically and speeding on the Eyre Highway.
Police located a vehicle about 7.30pm, it failed to stop and was seen to drive off at speed on Poyton Street. The alleged driver was seen to go inside a Ceduna property. Police attended and arrested the man.
The driver also submitted to a drug test and returned a positive result for methamphetamine.
The sample has been sent to Forensic Science SA for further analysis. A 31-year-old man from Thevenard was charged with drive in a speed and manner dangerous, driving under the influence and resist arrest.
His car was impounded and he was bailed to appear at the Ceduna Magistrates Court at a later date.
Police wish to thank the members of the public who reported this unsafe driving to police.
