Police Investigate Report of Child Being Assaulted


SA Police are investigating a report of a child being touched by a stranger while in a Murray Bridge business on Tuesday (2 October).

The child’s parent contacted police yesterday afternoon to report the incident, which is alleged to have occurred in a supermarket at the Murray Bridge Green Shopping Centre about 10am the day before.

Police investigating the incident have seized CCTV and have spoken to workers in the business.

Investigators are seeking to identify a man (pictured), aged about 60, who was in the area at the time. He is described as wearing a cap and having a full white beard.


Superintendent James Blandford, the officer in charge of the Murray Mallee Local Service Area, said police were investigating the full circumstances of the incident and asked that anyone who may be able to assist, or has information about the possible identity of the man is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au.
