Man Arrested for Breaking into Cars
A man will appear in court after he was caught on CCTV breaking into cars at Murray Bridge yesterday.
About 8.30am on Thursday 18 October police attended Sixth Street after reports tools had been stolen from a vehicle.
Police reviewed CCTV and it will be alleged the man interfered with several vehicles on Sixth Street in the early hours of the morning and stole a large amount of tools before leaving on a pushbike.
Following investigations, Murray Bridge police attended a nearby property and located the suspect.
The accused admitted stealing the tools and directed police to an area near the Murray Bridge train station where he had hidden them.
Police recovered approximately $7500 of tools and returned them to the victim.
A 44-year-old man from Murray Bridge was charged with illegal interference and two counts of theft.
He was bailed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrate Court at a later date.
