Tess Takes Grain Leadership to Next Level
Tess Walch is a regular on Flow FM, delivering weekly grain reports on the Country Viewpoint, while working on becoming a grains industry leader.
The former Patchewollock (and now Streaky Bay) resident was accepted into the Grain Growers Australian Grain Leaders Program for 2018 back in February, and has just finished the formal part of the program.
With trips to Canberra, Launceston, Wagga Wagga and Dubbo, Tess has learned a lot over the past year, not only about the grain industry, but what it takes to become a leader too.
She spoke to Flow FM today to share her experiences and discuss what the program involves.
When asked what the biggest leadership lesson she learned during the program was, Tess responded instantly saying "support networks".
"No matter how hard we work on ourselves or our businesses, all that matters is who we have around us to celebrate the wins and guide and advise through the harder times," she said.
Hear Tess on the Country Viewpoint, each Thursday from 1pm on Flow FM.
