Lockhart Lad Wins National Art Prize

Hudson Smith has embodied the 'spirit of grains' to come out on top in the GrainGrowers' national art competition, winning the five to eight year old section with his drawing below.

The art prize encourages children on Australian grain farms to tell their family’s farming story by bringing together the past and the present.

8 year old Hudson hails from a farm in Flow's 88.7fm Riverina region near Lockhart, called ‘Moonlyong’, which has been in the family for five generations - growing wheat, barley, canola and vetch.

The young artist joined Flow FM on today's Country Viewpoint program to share his story.

For more stories from your local region, join Anita on the Country Viewpoint, weekdays from 1pm on Flow FM.
