Mortal Engines Star Menik Chats with Clayton
Menik Gooneratne is a London-born Australian raised actress who now resides in Los Angeles.
She is the supporting lead (Sathya) in Peter Jackson's newest franchise, MORTAL ENGINES, which is set to be released on December 26 here in Australia.
The film is adapted from the Philip Reeve novels, which unlocks a new world – called the Traction Era. It takes place hundreds of years after civilization is destroyed by a cataclysmic event, where entire cities are now mounted on wheels and motorized, and must fight each other for survival. A mysterious young woman, Hester Shaw, emerges as the only one who can stop London – now a giant, predator city on wheels – from devouring everything in its path. Fiercely driven by the memory of her mother, Hester joins forces with Anna Fang, a dangerous outlaw with a bounty on her head.
Sathya is Anna Fang’s protégé and part of the Anti-Traction League - a fierce warrior who is also incredibly spiritual.
With a strong body of work behind her - including her career making role as Priya Kapoor on Neighbours - Menik is excited to see MORTAL ENGINES officially released.
