A fire at a car parts factory in Melbourne's north is under control, after the blaze forced the evacuation of six people.

An outbreak of Queensland fruit fly was declared on Tuesday at Lindsay Point in Victoria, after a detection of a gravid female.

Colac Otway Shire Council will temporarily reduce the speed limit at an Irrewarra intersection to improve safety until it receives formal speed reduction approval from Regional Roads Victoria.

In North Central Football and Netball Boort will host Birchip Watchem, Charlton will head to Donald, Weddernburn will host St Arnaud and Wycheproof-Narraport will travel to Sea Lake to take on the Tigers.

In Hume Football and Netball Saturday will see The Giants travel to Brock to take on the Saints, Culcarirn will host the Murray Magpies, CDHBU travel to Henty, Holbrook will host the Billabong Crows, Howlong will head to Jindera and Lockhart will travel to Osborne to take on the Cats.
